Incidental findings Diabetes mellitus, cachexia, RA
Signs Distal sensory loss to all modalities and/or distal motor weakness

Measure BM - diabetes
Vitamin B12
Common causes
Diabetes mellitus
Alcohol
Vitamin deficiency: e.g. B12
Drugs: isonizid, vincristine
Inflammatory: RA
Paraneoplastic
Pure motor
Lead
Porphyria
Diphtheria
